Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

This policy explains what Lucina ("we", "us") collects when you visit or buy from wearlucina.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how you get it deleted. We've written it to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to take your order, ship it, support you afterwards, and keep the site working.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money.
  • We do use advertising and analytics cookies, which counts as "sharing" under some state laws. You can turn that off — see Your choices.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@wearlucina.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Order information: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment processors. Card numbers are entered on their systems, not ours — we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your email and password (stored encrypted by Shopify).
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, contact form or review — including, sometimes, health details you choose to share about your wrist pain or your recovery. We only use that to answer you.
  • Marketing sign-ups: your email address, and your phone number if you opt into texts.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, time zone, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files that keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure how the site performs, and support advertising.

Sensitive information

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or medical records. If you voluntarily describe a health condition when you email us, we treat it as confidential, use it only to help you, and delete it on request.

Why we use it

  • To process, fulfil and deliver your order, and to send order and shipping notifications.
  • To provide customer support, process returns and honour the 60-night guarantee and warranty.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, chargeback abuse and site misuse.
  • To send marketing emails or texts — only if you opted in, and you can stop them at any time.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do their job for us, and only for that purpose:

  • Shopify Inc. — our ecommerce platform. Shopify hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf. See shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • Payment processors — Shopify Payments, PayPal, Shop Pay, and any buy-now-pay-later provider you choose, to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks.
  • Fulfilment and shipping partners — our warehouse, USPS and UPS, to pick, pack and deliver your order and to trace it if it goes missing.
  • Email and SMS providers — to send order notifications and, if you opted in, marketing.
  • Analytics and advertising providers — such as Google Analytics and Meta, to measure site performance and ad effectiveness.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — accountants, lawyers, or law enforcement where we're legally required to respond to a valid request.

We do not sell your personal information for money to anyone, and we never share the health details you mention in a support email with advertisers.

Cookies

We use four kinds:

  • Strictly necessary — cart, checkout, security. These can't be switched off; the store won't work without them.
  • Functional — remembering your preferences and language.
  • Analytics — aggregate statistics about how the site is used.
  • Advertising — measuring and targeting ads on other platforms.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break checkout. We also honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by your browser as a valid opt-out of sharing for targeted advertising.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live in the U.S., you can ask us to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
  • Access a copy of it.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete it, except what we must keep for tax, fraud-prevention or legal reasons.
  • Opt out of sharing for targeted advertising.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Exercising them will never affect your guarantee, your warranty or the price you pay.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute; we extend them to everyone.

To exercise any of them, email hello@wearlucina.com with the subject line "Privacy request". We'll confirm within 10 days and respond fully within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity by matching the email address or order details on file — we won't ask for ID documents. You can use an authorised agent; we'll ask for written proof they act for you.

Marketing opt-outs

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. For texts, reply STOP. Either takes effect within a few days at most. You'll still get transactional messages about orders you've placed.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: 7 years, because tax law requires it.
  • Support emails: 3 years, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we don't accidentally email you again.
  • Analytics data: typically 14 months, in aggregate form.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant processors, and access to customer data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Children

This store is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Where your data is processed

We operate in the United States and your information is processed there. Some of our service providers may process data in other countries under contractual safeguards.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is material, we'll say so on the site — and by email if you're on our list.
